Zoom integration
Create a Zoom meeting automatically for every booking.
What it does
When a workspace connects a Zoom account, its event types can use Zoom as their location. From then on:
- A Zoom meeting is created when a guest books. Its join link goes in the confirmation and reminder emails to the guest and the host, in the booking details of the dashboard and, when a Google Calendar is connected, in the calendar event.
- When the booking is rescheduled, the meeting moves to the new time and keeps its link.
- When the booking is cancelled, the meeting is deleted.
- In a group event type, all guests of the same time share one meeting.
Adding the app
You need a Simplify Booking account with the owner or admin role in the workspace, and a Zoom account.
- Sign in to Simplify Booking and open Integrations in the dashboard.
- Under Video conferencing, choose Zoom and click Connect Zoom.
- Zoom asks you to sign in, if you are not signed in already, and shows what the app may access. Click Allow.
- You come back to Simplify Booking, where the Zoom page shows the connected account as Connected.
One Zoom account is connected per workspace. Meetings are created in that account, whoever in the workspace owns the event type.
Using the app
- Open Event types and create or edit an event type.
- In the Location section, choose Zoom and save.
- Share the public link of the event type. Each booking made from it gets its own Zoom meeting.
The host starts the meeting from Zoom as usual, or from the join link in the booking details. Guests join from the link in their email. Nothing else changes in how Zoom works.
What the app accesses
- Meetings: to create, update, read and delete the meetings of your bookings. The app only acts on meetings it created.
- Your Zoom profile: read once, when you connect, to show which account is linked (name and email).
We store the ID and join link of each meeting we create, the name and email of the connected account, and the access tokens Zoom gives us, encrypted. We do not access recordings, participants, chat or meetings created outside Simplify Booking. See our Privacy Policy.
Removing the app
From Simplify Booking:
- Open Integrations and choose Zoom.
- Click Disconnect Zoom and confirm.
From Zoom:
- Sign in to your Zoom account and open the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Go to Manage, then Added Apps, or search for Simplify Booking.
- Click Remove next to the app.
When you disconnect from Simplify Booking, we revoke the app's access at Zoom and delete the stored account details and tokens. When you remove the app from Zoom, our access stops working at once; disconnect it in Simplify Booking too so the stored details are deleted. In both cases, meetings already created stay in your Zoom account, and new bookings of event types set to Zoom are confirmed without a meeting link until you connect again or change their location.
Troubleshooting
- Zoom cannot be chosen in an event type. The workspace has no Zoom account connected. Connect it from Integrations first.
- A booking has no Zoom link. The meeting could not be created, usually because the app was removed from Zoom or the connection expired. Disconnect and connect Zoom again.
- The connection fails after clicking Allow. The connection must be finished within 10 minutes and by the same signed-in user who started it. Start again from Integrations.
